Shipping’s top brass converge: Splash Singapore nears sell-out
Inaugural event on September 24 draws senior executives from MOL, Fednav, X-Press Feeders and 50+ firms.
The inaugural Splash Singapore conference is set to take place in less than two weeks, with delegate registrations accelerating as the maritime industry prepares for a day of high-level discussions. The event will be held on Thursday, September 24 at the Stamford Ballroom within the Raffles City Convention Centre, part of the Fairmont Singapore hotel.
The speaker lineup has expanded with the addition of several key industry leaders. Among them are Alan Hatton, CEO of Foreguard Shipping; Hor Weng Yew, managing director and CEO of Pacific Carriers Limited and chairman of the Singapore Maritime Foundation; and Jesper Klarup, vice president of chartering and managing director for Singapore at Fednav. They will be joined by Shmuel Yoskovitz, CEO of X-Press Feeders, and Tomoaki Ichida, senior managing executive officer at MOL Group and CEO of MOL Chemical Tankers.
Executives driving the agenda: splash singapore
These executives will contribute to a programme designed for open dialogue rather than formal presentations. The event will feature panel discussions with senior figures from companies such as Norden, Pacific Basin, Anglo-Eastern, Swire Shipping, AET, Vale, Rio Tinto, and the Baltic Exchange, among others. The focus will be on candid conversations between owners, charterers, managers, traders, and technology leaders, with no slides or corporate presentations.

The conference will open with a session titled The Big Issues, addressing how shipping organisations can navigate an increasingly complex environment shaped by geopolitics, trade disruptions, regulation, and technological advancements. Subsequent sessions will delve into the tanker and dry bulk markets, chartering strategies, and the evolving maritime workforce. A dedicated SplashTech Digital Leaders Forum will explore the role of artificial intelligence in the industry, from predictive analytics to crew management.
Grant Rowles, co-founder of Splash Singapore, highlighted the strong response from the industry. “Delegates are signing up quickly as they finalise their schedules, and the room is shaping up to include the exact mix we envisioned—owners, charterers, managers, technology companies, and other senior decision-makers,” he said.
A day of focused discussions
For international attendees still arranging travel, discounted accommodation remains available at the Fairmont Singapore, allowing participants to stay at the conference venue. The timing of the event also aligns with the Singapore Shipping Association’s annual gala dinner, which takes place the following evening, offering delegates a full week of maritime engagements.
With registrations continuing to rise, Splash Singapore is positioned to become a key event in the industry’s calendar, bringing together over 50 companies, including major players like Rio Tinto and Vale, as well as digital innovators such as Klaveness Digital and Kpler.
