BERGÉ has appointed Abhishek Vinod Gandhi as the new head of BERGÉ Shipbrokers. With a long-standing career within the organization since joining the group in 2008, he previously led the Dry Cargo division and will now oversee the entire Shipbrokers team following his appointment.
Abhishek is a well-regarded figure in the industry, with over 17 years of international experience across Europe and Asia. He brings strong expertise in commercial strategy, key account management, and global business expansion.
His profile ensures not only continuity in BERGÉ’s chartering services—a core part of the company’s identity since its inception—but also reinforces its growth strategy to provide specialized maritime transport services for all types of bulk cargo, both liquid and solid, as well as general and project cargo.
BERGÉ Shipbrokers operates as a chartering and fuel brokerage firm, offering a broad and fully integrated market perspective. Its team of brokers has extensive experience in arranging all types of chartering contracts, whether time or voyage-based, covering maritime transport of dry and liquid bulk, general cargo, and customized project cargo, across all vessel sizes.
As a ship operator, BERGÉ also manages fleet operations for third parties, offering market insight, strong port presence, international experience, and a vast network of contacts to optimize daily vessel operations.
In addition, BERGÉ Shipbrokers acts as a bunker broker for marine fuel sales and purchases in the Iberian Peninsula, the Canary Islands, Panama, and Peru. Specializing in spot contracts, indexed contract analysis (Platts, monthly averages, etc.), LNG (liquefied natural gas), and lubricants, BERGÉ Shipbrokers handles the full quotation, negotiation, execution, and coordination process—ensuring no delays in fleet schedules.
The company handles around 1,000 fixtures annually and manages approximately 2 million tons of cargo, supported by a large team of professionals specializing in dry and liquid cargo.
