The U.S. Southern Command (Southcom) has conducted its 68th airstrike targeting a suspected drug-smuggling vessel, bringing the total number of fatalities in its counter-narcotics campaign to an estimated 227. The operation took place on Monday in the Caribbean, along a known trafficking route. According to Southcom, intelligence confirmed the boat’s involvement in drug trafficking before the strike was authorized. The attack destroyed the vessel and killed four individuals on board.
