Norway’s Ministry of Energy has approved a 12-month extension for Ventyr to finalize its impact assessment and submit a licence application for the 1.5-gigawatt Sørlige Nordsjø II offshore wind project. The new deadline is set for October 15, 2027, a year later than the original date. The project, awarded to Ventyr—a joint venture between JERA Nex BP and Ingka Investments—in March 2024, was part of Norway’s first commercial offshore wind auction.
