South Korea enacts world’s first law for green shipping corridors

South Korea has become the first nation to enshrine green shipping corridors into domestic law, publishing enforcement rules that will define qualifying fuels, port standards, and procedures for establishing zero-emission maritime routes. The legislation targets routes connecting ports where low- or zero-carbon fuels, electricity, and other clean technologies replace traditional marine fuels to slash emissions.
