Houthi rebels launched back-to-back strikes on Saudi Aramco’s Jazan refinery using drones and missiles, starting fires and taking the facility offline.
The 400,000-barrel-per-day refinery is one of the largest and most modern in the region, now hit for the second time in 2026.
73 civilians, including women and children, were injured in the attacks, according to Saudi Arabia’s foreign ministry.
Brent crude oil rose more than two percent, settling above $99 following the news.

Yemen’s Houthi rebels launched consecutive drone and missile strikes on Saudi Arabia’s Jazan refinery this week, igniting fires and forcing the facility offline for the second time in 2026. The attacks, carried out on Monday and Tuesday, targeted the eastern section of the complex, where crude oil tank farms are concentrated. Satellite data from NASA’s FIRMS system detected thermal signatures consistent with fires in the area.
