The docks of Valenciaport move in sync with the Valencian and Spanish foreign trade sectors. In this regard, January was a positive month for exporters, as reflected in the statistical indicators of the major infrastructure serving international trade—the Port of Valencia, along with those of Sagunto and Gandia. Australia, Vietnam, and Bangladesh led the traffic increases of the Valencia Port Authority (APV) in the first month of 2025.

The Valenciaport Statistical Bulletin shows that container traffic with Australia grew by +98.89% in January, while Bangladesh saw an increase of +95.29% and Vietnam +81.39%. China remains Valenciaport’s main trading partner, with 67,475 TEUs exchanged with Asian ports (+53.19%) and 736,692 tons (+43.48%).

Additionally, Valenciaport terminals have confirmed in January that the export sector is in a phase of recovery. After a period of stagnation (post-DANA), the Valencian port facilities are once again showing positive signs and increases in outbound cargo traffic (full containers) leaving Valenciaport for destinations around the world. Specifically, according to the Valenciaport Statistical Bulletin for January, full TEU (6.1-meter-long containers) traffic increased by +9.87% during the month, with a cumulative growth rate of +1.91%.
