Abu Dhabi’s state-owned oil company, ADNOC, has placed a billion-dollar bet on its Umm Shaif gas field, awarding Houston-based McDermott a “mega contract” to build what will become one of the heaviest offshore modules in the Middle East. The deal, classified as exceeding $1bn, covers the full engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) scope for a new surface pressure-boosting facility.
